Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by the multiracial, mixed-ethnic family. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is Sri Lankan. There are two brothers younger than her and one older sister. Due to the war that raged in Sri Lanka that her parents decided to move to Bahrain. She received a scholarship to go to the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia following the completion of her education in Bahrain. A lover of cultures and languages, she joined Berlitz Language School where she studied Spanish and improved her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she participated as Miss Universe 2006 also. Her first appearance on television was after she won an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her show, Lanka Business Report, is about business in Sri Lanka. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been born in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. When she was a teenager she played in national level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from playing and went on to become an artist. Padukone hails from Mangalore and her mother tongue is Konkani. Padukone is a village in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with international repute, and her mother is a travel consultant.
